Talk on PFD and P&ID Development for UM 4th Year Chem Eng Students

DESCRIPTION

Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) are developed to show
  • Interconnection of main process units
  • Change in conditions - flow, temperature, pressure, composition, MW, Heat Capacity, Density, Viscosity - for different phases, gas/oil/aqueous as appropriate
  • Key design features of equipment
  • Major control loops

HINTS

  • Break processes into logical parts e.g. production, compression, fuel gas, compressed air etc
  • Show Vents/Drains as diamond with relevant legend
e.g. VH = High Pressure Vent Header, VL = LP Vent Header
